A Carnarvon local has come forward as the Western Australian winner who took out a share in the $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.
The Slikpik 18 was bought from Carnarvon Lottery News & Gifts and is worth $2.5 million! The man in his 50s said he was working overtime on a Sunday when a work colleague mentioned that someone from Carnarvon had won.
They both checked his ticket, cross-checking online and in the paper to make sure it held the winning numbers.
“After I had realised I had won, I downed tools and left for the day,” he said.
“I’m going to upgrade my car and boat, set up a trust fund for my daughter and invest the rest – and I’ll never be working overtime again.”
He said that he and his family would celebrate with a seafood dinner and that he would register his winning numbers as future luck when playing Lotto.
More than 300,000 WA players also took home a prize in the draw, including 26 Division Two prizes each worth just over $9,000.
The winning numbers were 22, 32,13, 8,19 and 9.
Thanks to those players that entered the Superdraw, nearly $3.5 million has been raised to contribute to the Lotterywest grants program.
